Owner Louis Bencardino Credits Loyal Staff, Hard Work & Integrity for Milestone

Bencardino Excavating is happy to celebrate its 20th anniversary this year. The excavating company, which recently launched a new Web site, is one of a shrinking number of construction companies continuing to weather the current economic climate.

“We are tremendously proud to be celebrating our 20th anniversary this year,” Lou Bencardino said. “It is a testament to our hard work, integrity, and the loyal staff we have built over the years.”

Twenty years ago, Bencardino Excavating had a staff of less than five, renting equipments and completing minor site work. Now the company employs more than 50 people, has a 40,000 square-foot office and warehouse complex in Bensalem, Pa., and completes major site work such as demolition, crushing, site utilities, earthwork, paving, site concrete, rentals and snow removal.

According to Louis Bencardino, the company has had to streamline itself in order to stay viable in light of recent economic uncertainty. However, he said changes in the industry have enabled the company to become more efficient and innovative, refining business practices and incorporating modern technology such as GPS navigation in their construction equipment. Bencardino also provides his staff ongoing safety, CPR and driver trainings.
