For our next project we've partnered with Essington, Pa. electrical contractor Eagle I Electric, Inc. to complete work at the Tioga Marine Terminal in Northeast Philadelphia.

Eagle I Electric hired Bencardino Excavating to handle excavation for the new electrical conduits for crane controls at the terminal. Led by Lou Bencardino and site foreman Joe Hathaway, the excavation project ensured that a new crane could be installed.

“It is always our pleasure to work on projects like this that directly demonstrate economic impact in the Philadelphia region where our employees live and work,” said Louis Bencardino. “We are also proud to serve as a strategic partner of Philadelphia-area owned and operated businesses such as Eagle I Electric.”

“We have worked with Bencardino Excavating on other similar projects and they always do a wonderful job,” said Vice President of Eagle I Electric Inc. Gerald T. Rothstein. “The crew is great at adapting to changes and working with everyone on the jobsite to get the job done.” Eagle I Electric has extensive experience in electrical construction projects – with a focus on development in and around Philadelphia and New Jersey.

The Tioga Marine Terminal is a part of the Philadelphia Regional Port Authority. The terminal, situated on 116 acres of waterfront, uses gantry and mobile harbor cranes to handle containerized and breakbulk cargo for the Philadelphia-area and beyond. Located on Delaware Avenue at Tioga Street in Northeast Philadelphia, the terminal specializes in cargo such as containers, refrigerated fresh fruit, paper, plywood, autos, palletized, project, breakbulk and steel.
