Bencardino Contractors consists of a team of over 140 construction professionals and skilled crafts people who are dedicated to performance and productivity. We're a family-run business - doing big jobs, but keeping relationships small and personal, so you don't have to go through 50 people to get our attention.

THE HISTORY OF BENCARDINO CONTRACTORS
After graduating high school, Louis A. Bencardino earned his stripes raking concrete, digging footings, and grading and stoning slabs for a neighbor who had a concrete business. He soon decided he'd rather go back to school so he studied to be a computer repair technician. In 1986 Lou landed a job with Xerox.
Soon realizing that office life with a briefcase wasn't for him, Lou Bencardino naturally returned to his neighbor's concrete business and gained more skills, learning to use a backhoe among them. Armed with his newfound abilities, Bencardino set out to buy his own backhoe and start an excavating business. He had his first backhoe delivered to his mother's house because he had nowhere to put it!
Doing odd excavating jobs, Bencardino caught the attention of A.T. Chadwick, which sent him on his first independent job to a chemical plant in South Philadelphia. Lou Bencardino recalls leaving at 2 AM and driving the backhoe all the way there.
Chadwick quickly became a good customer, keeping Lou busy for the next few years. From Chadwick, he also learned sanitation/storm and mechanical work. Growing steadily over the years, Bencardino Excavating Contractors built a large shop building in 1995, and in 1999 Lou built an adjacent office building. Today Bencardino employees nearly 200 dedicated individuals, utilizes the latest state-of-the-art equipment, but still keeps customer relations simple.
BENCARDINO HELPS BUILD HISTORY AT PARX CASINO IN BENSALEM, PA

When Bencardino Contractors began site work for PARX Casino in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, the company was breaking ground on more than just a construction project—it was helping to usher in a significant new chapter in the region’s storied gaming and entertainment heritage. Originally known as Philadelphia Park Racetrack, the site where PARX Casino now stands has roots dating back to the early 1970s, when it operated primarily as a horse racing venue known for drawing sports enthusiasts and spectators from across the state. Over the years, the location evolved into a premier entertainment destination, culminating in the creation of PARX Casino, one of Pennsylvania’s largest and most visited gaming centers.

For Bencardino Contractors, playing a key part in bringing PARX Casino to life not only underscored our commitment to quality, safety, and innovation, but also connected us to the living history of Bensalem and its ongoing legacy as a premier entertainment hub.

Bencardino’s role in preparing the site for PARX Casino was pivotal in melding the past with the future. Our team performed a full range of earthwork, utilities, and site development to support the complex construction requirements of the expanding casino and accompanying facilities.

BENCARDINO SAFETY POLICIES

All of our employees participate in a 10-hour OSHA course, and received confined space training. In addition, we regularly distribute safety briefs to our workers and conduct weekly "toolbox talks" on safety for each job. We also require all new employees to attend CPR classes, and all of our drivers must attend driver safety class.
