Our team recently began project work at the Settlement Music School's new Willow Grove Branch facility at 318 Davisville Road.

Settlement Music School is the largest community school of the arts in the U.S. and has served more than 300,000 students since 1908. General contractor, TN Ward, Inc., hired Lou Bencardino and his excavating team to handle the installation of a segment block retaining wall; to import 5,000 yards of fill to build up the site; and to work on all curbs and final paving for the school.

Louis Bencardino and Bencardino Excavating will lay the ground work for the new 25,000 sq. ft, three-story facility which will replace the Jenkintown Branch and will allow enrollment to grow from 800 to 1,500 by 2012. The new school will have 29 studios for individual voice and instrumental teach and group classes in music workshop and a music resource library.

"The Bencardino Excavating team really enjoys working within the local community, especially for Philadelphia-area educational facilities," said Louis Bencardino. "In the last year, we have completed projects for Holy Family University, North Penn School District and Saint Joseph's University. It is important to us to do our part to further education of all sorts in our community.
